Elara’s 3rd birthday is fast approaching and I always love putting together a little gift guide of things I have decided to pick up. I get asked a lot what I buy for Elara and where from etc so it’s easier to point people in the direction of this post. Gifts for a 3 year old can be hard to find as they are at that awkward in-between stage of baby and child, i.e Toddler. But there is a huge difference between an 18 month old toddler and a 3 year old toddler so finding the perfect gifts is hard. I don’t believe in gender toys and Elara can play with whatever she likes and we make sure she knows she can be anything she wants to be and love whoever she wants to love. So here are adorable gifts for a 3 year old.
personalised gifts
I love a good personalised gift as they just make things even more special. Elara has this beautiful ‘I am Three” T-shirt from a lovely little shop I found on Instagram, River and Six. The t-shirt is really good quality and the shop is run very sustainably and all unisex. I absolutely love unisex clothing and will always purchase unisex when I can; putting a gender on clothing is just strange. I love the simple style of the t-shirt and because Elara loves wearing a tutu we will be pairing it with her tutu for her birthday. The tutu is from Zara last season.
The cute little birthday badge you see is from another lovely little shop I found on Instagram, DuckTailDesignCo. This little badge can be personalised with lots of different liberty fabrics and your choice of ribbon. It’s super adorable and long lasting so you can pass it down to younger siblings/family members. These are just £6.50 and way cuter than your standard birthday badge.

Craft gifts
We absolutely love being crafty and creative in this house so for Elaras Birthday I had to pick her up some crafty bits. This Play Dough set is from a lovely small business called Little Adventures with Dough. This set is called The Dinosaur Adventure and for my little dinosaur obsessed Toddler she is going to love it. It’s £30 and comes with all the bits photographed. The dough is handmade with completely natural and food grade ingredients so it’s safe for your little ones. The packaging is all sustainable and all parts of the kit are made to last, so if there is plastic within the kit (like the little dinosaur skeletons) they are included as they will be used and loved for a long time.
We also have The Bee Garden kit from Little Adventures with Dough and we play with it at least 3 times a week. Elara absolutely loves the set and the little tools keep her interested for a lot longer than play dough alone would. Highly recommend this lovely little brand. Email subscribers would have already received a discount code for this in their email inbox but click here to join for FREE now and receive your discount codes.

We also have this amazing little activity book and E banner from another little business I found on Instagram, MabieMakes. The Activity Kit comes with a cute little activity book, a pack of coloured pencils with a little sharpener on the lid, cute character crayons and a cute little bag to keep them all in. The little initial banner was bought separately and is so adorable. I’m so excited for Elara to receive these on her birthday.
cute toys

I picked up this adorable set of 3 little monsters from Eva and Rose, a cute little shop I found on Instagram that stocks Ollie Ella and Maileg. Elara loves tiny toys like this and she is obsessed with Unicorns, monsters and dragons so these were just perfect. I’ve also picked up another little maileg mouse, and I have to admit that although Elara loves playing with them I am pretty much collecting them for me hahaa. The little dinosaur in the top corner is also from Eva and Rose, their whole site is adorable and there will definitely be something you want to buy.
Elara absolutely loves Makka Pakka from In the Night Garden and thinks he’s just the cutest little thing so I also picked up a little Makka Pakka that when you squeeze his tummy he plays the makka pakka song. She is going to love him, you can pick him up here. Elara was also playing with her friends little Barbie doll recently and loved it so I picked her up this little Barbie doll with a play set that she is going to be obsessed with.
The lovely little team at Sweet Fix recently sent us these little packets of sweets for Elaras birthday and I stupidly left them on the side after taking the above photos and Elara clocked them. So . . . You may have seen on my insta stories that we have already eaten them and they were delish! They have a great selection of pick and mix sweets and honesty you really can’t go wrong with a bag of sweets can you.
books

Anyone that knows me knows that I am a huge book nerd and I’m so happy to say that I have passed this onto Elara. I have picked up numerous books over the month and hid them away for Elaras birthday. We read every single day and she loves her books. Here she is standing infront of her book shelves in her room. This is just a small selection. Here are just SOME of the books I’ve picked up.
The Grinny Granny Donkey– These are the funniest little books and we have all the variations part from this new one. You and your little one will love it!
Jack and the Giant Tantrum– This really helps little ones understand their anger and help them to deal with it. A must have for toddlers.
How many sleeps til Halloween– Elara is obsessed with Halloween so I know this will be a favourite!
And I will leave it there for books because I could go on and on. If you’d like to see some more kids book recommendations I wrote this blog post when Elara was smaller- Our Favourite Toddler Books to Read.
I am still a good week away from Elaras birthday and I am considering getting her a little wooden Castle for her bedroom also so keep an eye on my social media to see if I buy it. I spoil this little one so much and she definitely deserves it after the year she’s had. I hope this has given you some ideas for gifts for a 3 year old and you manage to pick up something special. If you’d like to see what we picked up for Elara last year you can check that out here- Toddler gift Guide. Elara still plays with every single one of those toys! Thanks for reading!
