*Gifted Day Out at The Dinosaur Park in exchange for an honest review

We recently got back from our little holiday to Haven Kiln Park Tenby and whilst away we spent the day at The Dinosaur Park Tenby. We absolutely loved our day out and I hope this post answers all the questions you have. So lets get to it, Our Dinosaur Park Tenby review:

Dinosaur park price

An Adults ticket costs £15.95 and a ticket for a child between the age of 3-15 costs £14.75. There are also season passes available which work out at being even more great value for money if you attend more than 3 times in the February to November season. When you have paid your entrance fee or shown your season pass all manned rides within the park are then free, and the ones that are charged are £1. The price is incredible for the array of things there are to do within the park; you could easily stay for the entire opening hours 10am until 5pm between the 4th April to the 11th September.

age range for the dinosaur park

We went as a group of 5 including Elara who is 3, myself and my partner and my parents (Elara’s grandparents) and we all had an incredible day. There is so much to do for all ages. A great day out for the whole family and somewhere we will 100% visit again. The Dinosaur Trail can be enjoyed by all ages and then there are a number of activities and rides for everyone to enjoy too.

best time to visit the dinosaur park

We visited on a Wednesday during school term and it was so quiet that there were zero queues for anything and we were walking the Dinosaur trail alone. Even at busier times I can’t imagine there being a long wait for anything as it is all so well spaced out. We stayed from 10am until 5pm and we could honestly have stayed even longer.

what to bring with you

The Dinosaur Park is majority an outdoor day out but there are some indoor play areas also; as it is mainly outdoors I would recommend to check the weather before hand. I would personally pack comfy shoes for the family and take a pram for any little ones as they may get tired along the Dinosaur trail and although it isn’t super long I definitely wouldn’t want to carry Elara for the full duration. Make sure to pack sunscreen etc for a sunny day and a puddle suit for more wet days. We took a picnic with us too and there are tonnes of picnic benches to enjoy; which brings me nicely on to . .

where to eat

There are picnic benches around the park if you would like to bring your own food but they also have a lovely cafe within The Dinosaur Park with things such as Pizzas, Burgers and Chips and even a little kids picnic. All very reasonably priced at under £5. They also have a little ice cream shop with ice lollies and ice cream tubs.

accessibility

The Dinosaur Park is tarmacked over a lot of the park and has two toilet blocks, both with disabled toilets. The Dinosaur Trail has a rocky path which may be unsuitable for some and has a steep part of the trail which could prove difficult for wheelchair users and would require assistance. You can skip this steep section though so you will not miss the entire Dinosaur Trail. There are loud dinosaur noises throughout the trail which may effect some visitors. The Walking Safari area is also steep and states that it isn’t suitable for wheelchair users or those less able bodied. The rest of the park has tarmacked wide paths. There is a little dinosaur band as you first enter that plays music intermittently that may effect some visitors. Overall The Dinosaur Park have made a great effort to make the park as accessible as possible.

parking

The Dinosaur Park has a huge free car park which has lots of disabled spaces and generous sized spaces to get kids in and out of car seats. The carpark is quite steep and you may require assistance if you are a wheel chair user.

where to stay

We were staying at Haven Kiln Park which is a 4 minute drive away. Highly recommend the park and a full review of our stay will be up soon too. There are so many places to stay in Tenby and I hope to stay in more to review them soon too.

things to do at the dinosaur park

There is so much to do at the Dinosaur Park including the Dinosaur Trail, walking safari, bumper boats, go karts, a maze, indoor soft play for all ages, slides, parks, diggers, sand pits and loads more. The dinosaur trail was a lovely walk through the woods with lots of dinosaur statues with a little introduction to each dinosaur. Before visiting I thought this was one of the only things to do at the park but there was so much more. Elara spent so much time in the sand pit digging up dinosaur bones and loved the dinosaur jigsaw. Grandparents loved the curling and skittles and the hurricanes, little circle cars that you controlled with two levers.

We spent an hour in the lovely play parks which were all dinosaur shaped and very well made, and then another hour in the indoor soft play. In the indoor play park there is an under 2’s section as well as a toddler section, an older section and a big kids section with a few of those little rides you usually find outside of supermarkets and a few claw machines and penny machines. Grandparents also tried out the virtual reality experience; a rollercoaster simulation with a vr headset that my parents absolutely loved. All this was included in the entrance fee and I really cannot recommend The Dinosaur Park enough. It was such an incredible day out. There is so much to do that I don’t want to spoil anymore surprises. One last thing to cover . . .

must do’s at the dinosaur park

I have to share out must do’s. You definitely have to meet a baby dinosaur, the times of this will be on the board at the entrance to the park, Elara loved the baby dinosaur and even stroked him. Another baby dinosaur you can see in the park is the baby Triceratops which little ones can actually ride for £1 each. Elara loved this and we were all so impressed with the quality of the dinosaur. Another must do is the walking safari, which is only open at certain times so again definitely check the daily activities board. We all loved the go karts and had a few rides to see who would win, me of course. Mike absolutely loved the massive tube slide and actually took Elara on for one of the rides and she enjoyed it too. We all went on the big blue slide and it was memorable for all because its so so fast. Go on over to my Instagram to see us scream our way down haha.

The Dinosaur Park is such an amazing family day out for all and I would highly recommend a day out there; we had such an amazing time and will definitely be back soon. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful and it was such a well run place, we were really impressed with everything. You can really see that The Dinosaur Park was a real labour of love. I hope this Dinosaur Park Tenby Review has helped you to decide to go and please let me know what you think if you have been before and what your must do’s are.
