EASY CHRISTMAS WINDOW DRAWINGS

10th December 2020 2 Comments

I saw the lovely Emma drawing a little cute scene on her windows for Christmas and just HAD to try it out. I am no artist, like really, I’m awful and can’t even draw a stick man, but I created a cute little easy to draw design that even I couldn’t fail at. I’ve had lots of questions about the window drawings and how I did it etc so thought I would whip out a quick blog post. Here are my Easy Christmas Window drawings.

chalk pens

I personally used the Chalkola chalk pens (previously gifted campaign). They are easy to write and draw with and wipe off so easily I didn’t have to worry about staining the windows. We also have a huge box of 30 colours so the world is my oyster. Even though I actually stuck with mainly white for these drawings.

Design

I searched and searched pinterest and couldn’t find many designs to copy so I googled to my hearts content and came across a cute hanging bauble design. I simplified it the best I could, as like I said, I can’t draw. I really think freehand just makes things cuter so I just drew some simple pieces of string (lines lol) and added some baubles dangling from it. I stuck with circles, stars and hearts as that really is my limit. I added a little simple snowman and some snowflakes to this middle window as the bottom was looking a little bare.

On the window on the left I made up a cute little town with different height buildings and a little Christmas Tree. The buildings are literally just boxes with windows and some have coloured in roofs, some empty and some with wavy lines to act as tiles. Mixing it up keeps it looking interesting. You can see how messy mine is but it still looks cute. I finished it off with a little moon and literally just polka dots acting as snow.

On the window on the right I made a slightly different little town with a little clock tower. Adding the little bricks made it more interesting to look at but still easy to do. Still all super simple and messy and just as cute. Really mixing up the sizes of the buildings, heights and deigns keeps it looking very cute. Again finished off with the polka dot snow and a moon. Honestly it was all super simple and probably took around 30 minutes to do while Elara was napping. She absolutely loved the windows and I’m now planning my New Years Window display.

I would love to hear if you try this out and would love to see your windows and your take on my super easy Christmas window drawings.
