Our Lost Travel Plans

OUR LOST TRAVEL PLANS due to covid-19

14th May 2020 12 Comments

Before coronavirus hit we, Mike, Elara and myself, had a few travel plans booked or in the process of booking. Unfortunately then we had lockdown so here are our lost travel plans due to covid-19. I’m sad we are missing such amazing trips and days out but we are thankful that we are home safe and well.

Center parcs

I have never been to Center Parcs before and this year that was all going to change. We had booked Center Parcs with my parents and my brother and we were meant to be away on the 27th April for the week. We had it planned for months and even purchased tickets for Longleat safari park as we were going to the Longleat Center Parcs. We had a lovely 4 bedroom executive suite booked with a sauna. We were dreaming about the incredible pool and lots of chilled family time. This would have been Elaras first holiday with grandparents and now that she is a little toddler we were excited to see her little face light up. We will definitely rebook but we are unsure when to book for now.

bristol

One of Elaras amazing Christmas presents from her Auntie and Uncle was an adoption certificate of one of the Lions in a zoo in Bristol. Elaras name is displayed near the Lion’s exhibit stating that she has adopted him for the year and we had planned to visit the zoo before the Summer. We were planning on spending a lovely weekend creating memories with Elaras Auntie and Uncle and seeing her adopted Lion. The adoption is for the year and we are hoping and hoping that we get to visit when Elaras name is still on the exhibit.

Italy

We hadn’t yet officially booked Italy luckily, but we had planned to be going to Italy in May/June on Elaras first trip out of the UK. It would have also been the first trip out of the UK for me and Mike as a couple. We are hoping that we can officially book Italy maybe next year. Who knows what the future brings.

Season passes

This year we decided to get out more with Elara. She absolutely loves animals and just being out with nature even more since she learnt to walk at 11 months old. When I say this girl loves animals; she is obsessed. We decided to pick up some season passes (year long passes) to a few local places and unfortunately we have visited one once and the other not at all so far this year. Hopefully we will be able to visit later in the year; but with me being high risk I really can’t see us visiting places this year.

stratford upon avon

Me and Mike were planning a little couples holiday away towards the end of Summer. I was about to book when Covid-19 hit and decided against it even though it is still months away. I found a beautiful little treehouse getaway in one of my favourite places ever, Stratford Upon Avon. It was going to be for a little weekend away but it would have been the longest time spent away from Elara to date. The Treehouse had a hot tub </3

We have holiday plans for September onwards too but atm they all still seem to be going ahead but only time will tell. I really can’t see the UK returning to normal everyday life this year. I hope you are all keeping well and safe. It’s okay to be upset about lost plans. Above is just my list travel plans. We were also meant to be selling our house and moving right now but obviously that is not happening.

We are all in this crazy storm, in different boats but we’re all experiencing our lives being flipped upside down. If you’d like to hear more of what’s been going on during Lockdown I have started a little Lockdown Series. What are your lost travel plans due to covid-19?

We were due to go with Luke’s side of the family to a working farm in Wales for the boys. I just keep thinking they’ll get so much more out of it in another years time. Plus we miss the zoo so much!

Great post. I imagine it is a little hard for little kids to understand why plans had to change. Thanks for sharing 💕

I’m sure as a family you’ll have so many adventures ahead of you. Centre parcs is amazing.

Lost plans are so sad, I’ve had 3 cancelled abroad so far including a press trip. Hopefully you can still visit Stratford upon Avon, I went last year and it’s beautiful!

I hadn’t got anything booked however really wanted to do something 🤞🏼 hoping that we can maybe get away to Scotland or somewhere else in the UK towards the end of the year. And I have to say that you’ll love Centre Parcs, it’s fab!

Oh I’m so sorry your plans got cancelled hun. With the baby being due we didn’t have any plans for this half of the year, we are considering trips towards the end of the year but nothing booked so we’ll see how we go.

The adopting a lion is so blooming sweet! Sounds like you had so much planned for this year, I hope things get back to normal as soon as is safe to so we can carry on travelling! We had planned Rufus’ first holiday abroad to Sweden this summer, I am so gutted that it wont be happening!
