MY EARLY PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS WITH BABY NUMBER 2

26th October 2020 5 Comments

As I am writing this I am 4 weeks and 1 day pregnant 🙂 I found out 5 days ago with a standard cheap pregnancy test. My period was due yesterday so it’s obviously still very early stages but for the past week I’d say I have been experiencing early pregnancy symptoms. I was very much the same when I was pregnant with Elara but I feel like the symptoms are stronger this time around. I will update this weekly and then when I announce my pregnancy at 12 weeks I will upload this. My early pregnancy symptoms, first 11 weeks. With trying to conceive we have been very very lucky; I have gotten pregnant the first month with both babies and I feel so so blessed. I wish this was the case with everyone and I sincerely hope that if you are trying to conceive that you conceive quickly. Baby dust to you all. Although if you are reading this then chances are you are already pregnant and in that case: CONGRATULATIONS!!

3 weeks- symptoms before missed period

I feel nauseous, extremely nauseous. I just have this instant I’m pregnant kind of feeling; its hard to explain but its like your mum instinct just kicks in. My boobs are also extremely sore and although I get sore boobs just before my period this is another level.

4 weeks

My boobs are sooooo sore. I do not remember them being this sore with Elara and nothing eases it at all. Add in a toddler that likes to sit on said boobies multiple times a day and you have one very sore mama. Sickness; oh my days. I had Hyperemesis Gravidarum when I was pregnant with Elara and I just hope that isn’t the case this time around. Nausea is my number 1 bug bare. I hate feeling sick and it literally ruins my life. Yes I sound dramatic but I avoid anything and everything that makes me sick; except for pregnancy, oops. I have had some light cramping, a lot less than what I would have had if I had come on my period.

5 weeks

Sore boobs, standard. Nausea all damn week. I had a little blood while going to the toilet so had to get checked out and there is some blood on my cervix; no idea why or what has caused it but hoping and hoping that baby is okay. My skin has broken out like crazy this week; I had the same with Elara in the first trimester. Bloating like crazy and so so tired. It’s starting to feel more real now, although the wait for the 12 week scan is painful.

6 weeks

Nausea is still my number one symptom. Hoping and hoping that I don’t have Hyperemesis Gravardium this time. Still having spotting so I have been referred to a gynaecologist to check my cervix; I was having bleeding between periods before I got pregnant so thoughts are that its that atm.

7 weeks

I have my gynaecologist appointment this week to hopefully get to the bottom of the spotting. It’s absolutely terrifying every time I see a bit of blood. Due to corona they won’t allow me an early scan unless the bleeding increases or I get pain. Still terrible nausea and constantly tired. This pregnancy is definitely flying by compared to being pregnant with Elara.

8 weeks

Thank god the spotting has now stopped. Just the sickness and the exhaustion to contend with now. Its so much harder with a toddler to look after second time around. With Elaras pregnancy I could just sleep all day.

9 weeks

How has it been 9 weeks already? This pregnancy is flying. Still having morning sickness and struggling to sleep. On top of being exhausted the struggling to sleep is joy 😐 I’ve just been lying awake for hours each night. Top Tip being pregnant with a toddler: forget the housework and go to bed when they do. You can thank me later.

10 weeks

So the migraines begin. I have suffered with migraines for years but when pregnant with Elara they intensified. It sucks. I can’t take medication for the migraines due to my asthma so I am stuck with just using paracetamol. A tip I discovered while pregnant with Elara for getting rid of headaches/migraines though is to pop some Vicks Vapour rub on your temples. I’m full of little weird tips like this so I’ll do a full blog post on pregnancy tips soon.

11 weeks

This week has been kind of boring symptoms wise. I have had a few headaches and a bit of food aversion but other than that I can definitely say that my early pregnancy symptoms are starting to ease as I move more into the second trimester. We’ve had our scan letter this week and we are going to see our little bean 5 days from the day I’m writing this. I am so so excited.

Even though there are a few more weeks left within the first trimester I decided to end this here as my symptoms have really started to become more manageable. I hope this has helped some of you realise that what your going through is completely normal and that there are a whole load of symptoms that a lot of people just never talk about. Good luck with your pregnancy journey and try to relax and enjoy it. If you’d like to follow along on my pregnancy journey I story on Instagram daily- katieflossblog.
