MY 2021 GOALS

28th December 2020 11 Comments

I’m not the kind of girl to stick to New Years Resolutions so I like to instead make goals for the year ahead. Something I can look ahead to and hope to bring to 2021. 2020 has been such a write off of a year in so many ways but it’s also the year me and my partner, Mike, stayed at home for a good few months with Elara and had some incredible bonding time. The year that Elara turned 2 and the year we conceived our little baby girl. I am now 24 weeks as of the end of December. Here are my 2021 goals:

be present with my family

Elara and Mike (and the little bean in my tummy) are my life and although I am with them all the time, especially at the moment being in a Tier 4 lockdown, I am sometimes not present. Being a social media ‘influencer’ and a blogger can suck you in and you can spend hours and hours keeping up with engaging and finding the correct content. I don’t want to be like this and I am trying to limit the amount of time I spend on social media without harming the growth of katiefloss.

create positivity

I try to be as positive as I can be; this doesn’t come naturally to me. I have to work very hard to push away negative thoughts, especially about myself. I have tried my best to remain positive throughout this past year. Trying to see the best in situations and people. I want to continue with that and really try to create as much positivity as possible. Myself and my good friend Emma have created TheMamaProject, an Instagram page for mamas full of positivity and hopefully lots of helpful tips.

continue my passion for creative content

I absolutely adore my blog and Instagram. They are my creative outlets and last years goals mentioned keeping up with my blog and Instagram and I have done just that. I have consistently posted on my blog and Instagram and have loved exploring my creative side more and in some crazy twist of fate I have started earning a little income from it all. My absolute dream is to make a steady income but for now I am happy with just my little creative space.

Be more sustainable

We as a family have been making huge changes to our lives to help the planet; but we can always improve. I would absolutely love to get an electric car but they are just currently out of budget for us; even the smaller cars, which just wouldn’t work for us with 2 babies rear facing and a huge double stroller, are easy out of budget. I am hoping prices reduce and we can get one eventually. I use modibodi on all of my periods now so that they are waste free; Elara is transitioning to cloth nappies and we try to have meat free nights each week. Every tiny change is a positive change in the right direction though.

I will always always strive to read more as I bloody love it. It’s something I love to do as much as possible and try to dedicate my time to. I will be setting my Goodreads Goal over the coming days and might go higher than my 20 of this year to really push myself to pick up a book more often. With baby number 2 due in April I’m not sure how much time I will have to read but I’ll give it a shot.

So those are my 2021 goals. What are yours? I love hearing other peoples goals for life and watching them succeed. If you’d like to read more from me you can read My 2020 Goals too.

These are fantastic goals, and I agree that it’s so much fun to blog/use social media- and I’d love to continue to use these platforms to be creative and enjoy my online space. Thank you for sharing x

I loved reading about your goals! Quarantine has definitely taught me about acceptance and being present, and I hope to continue with it in 2021!

Fab post! I’m also aiming to be more sustainable in the new year, I turned vegetarian this year but I feel that I could do more. Best of luck with your 2021 goals! x

Great goals Katie! I’m really chuffed I found your blog through Instagram. I started my own blog this June when my daughter was still young and haven’t really had the confidence to write heartfelt blogs. But I’m going to try and take a leap of faith in 2021 🤦🏼‍♀️

Enjoyed reading your goals for 2021. One of my goals for next year is also to read more. I’ll be setting up my GoodReads goal too soon. I’m thinking 20 books this coming year so I can also put a bigger dent on all the books I bought from the past years.

People really don’t understand just how much time and work goes into being a blogger/influencer! It’s so much more than “just writing/posting a picture”. I hope you reach all of your goals and get to make some lovely memories with your family 🙂 Mine are to learn to cook tofu, save £2,000 and climb Pen y Fan in Wales!
