WHAT I READ IN FEBRUARY 2019

12th March 2019 12 Comments

Back at it again, reading all those books. Eek! I am beginning to regret my decision of trying to read 52 books, like a book a week is a lot. I didn’t give myself a week off or anything!! But the goal is set and I’m going for it. If you’d like to read what I read last month click here. I think February went okay, I thought at the beginning that I would be able to finish a few books and then have a buffer but 2 a week seems insanely hard. I am still on maternity leave but Elara is into everything now and unless she’s napping my time is spent constantly keeping her occupied. So here goes, hers my What I read In February 2019 post. The links below are affiliate links; it doesn’t change the price for you but I receive a few pennies for sending traffic their way.

How to Stop Time – Matt Haig – link
This I started within January but I actually finished it on 4th feb so it’s firmly in the February stash. I gave this book a 4/5 as I found it really boring in parts but I did finish it and actually enjoyed the storyline; it’s just a little stale in parts.

The Woman in the Window– A J Finn – link
5/5 would recommend! Couldn’t put this down, literally finished this within 2 days. I stayed up until 4am the first night trying to finish but I was defeated by the call of sleep and the fact that Elara would be up in a couple of hours and I hadn’t slept yet. Really really good!

The Tattooist of Auschwitz – Heather Morris – link
I really thought that this would make me sob uncontrollably and was avoiding it a little for this reason but, weirdly (am I broken?) I didn’t actually cry reading this. It is very sad and absolutely heartbreaking hearing what actually happened at Auschwitz but the way the story is told is so sweet and it remains fairly positive throughout. 5/5.

Eve of Man – Giovanna & Tom Fletcher – link
Loved this! The first book of a trilogy and I am hooked. This is well written, wouldn’t expect anything less from Giovanna and Tom (love his Dinosaur pooped books), and has a really interesting storyline. You can kind of guess what is going to happen next but I’m normally pretty good at guessing anyway. Really loved this and can’t wait for the next 2 books. 5/5.

A Single Stone – Meg McKinlay –
I also loved this. So well written and so different to what I would normally read. This was given to me by my bestie and she told me how much she loved it so I knew it was going to be good but it was better than I imagined. I am very claustrophobic and this book includes caving and honestly it made me sweat at times. So good. 5/5.

Good Reads Target: 52
Read This Month: 5
Read Altogether: 9

To be honest I am fairly impressed with myself that I have read 9 books already this year. Maybe I can do it after all. We’ll see! How many books did you read in February?
