Mike and I (and bump) were super excited to try out the Turtle Bay festive menu this evening and oh my days was it good. I was contacted by a pr company and asked if I would love to try the 4 course festive menu in exchange for this review. The Turtle Bay Festive Menu is £24 for 3 courses or £27 for 4 courses; we tried out the 4 courses and we were seriously stuffed but I would definitely say to splurge for the 4 courses if you are to visit.

First of all entering the location it was absolutely beautiful and very well styled. It had a lovely atmosphere and was very cosy. We were seated by the window and every table was socially distanced with screens between for extra safely. There was a bottle of hand sanitiser on the table and we were told to wear our masks if we were to leave the table for any reason. It was a lovely quiet evening in the restaurant and we loved the music playing.
Appetisers

We started with an appetiser tray full of juicy grilled halloumi, crispy garlic flatbread, spiced crispy chickpea chana and fresh watermelon. This was amazing, especially the garlic flatbread, I could have eaten a whole tray of that. We were also served with some delicious drinks. I chose the Virgin Passion Punch Cocktail which was on 2 4 1 so I had 2 drinks for just £6 and Mike chose the Fizzy Mango Homemade Soft Drink, both were amazing.
Starters

I chose the sweetcorn fritter Starter and it was incredible. I am usually so reserved when it comes to food and just stick with classics but these fritters were amazing and had lovely mango mole on top which added that perfect touch of sweetness. The portion size was huge, with 4 fritters. I managed to squeeze in 3 and Mike had the other.

Mike chose the Berry Jerk Wings started and they looked and smelt incredible. Mike is a huge wings fan; its one of his favourite go to’s when we eat out and he said that these were hands down the best wings he had ever tried. That is a huge compliment right there. He said they were delicious with just the perfect amount of spice.
Mains

For main I went with the Trini Curry Chicken and was so surprised at how much I loved it. I don’t like coconut flavour and this curry came with coconut rice but I actually loved it and would definitely order again. It wasn’t too spicy, just a little kick. The chicken was so tender and beautifully flavoured and there were little potatoes within the curry that just added to the texture and made it one hell of meal. I would highly recommend the Trini Curry Chicken.

Mike decided on the Jerk Sirloin Steak and he loved it. It came with a side of chips and these chips were some of the best chips I have ever had (I may have stollen a few). Although Mike really enjoyed the steak, he tried some of my curry and said that we need to come back so he can try some more of the chicken.
Deserts

For the 4th and final course I chose the Chilli Chocolate Brownie which had a little heat and the best flavour. I was not a fan of the coconut ice cream on the side but if I’m honest I don’t like any ice creams so wouldn’t have eaten it if it was plain vanilla either. Mike chose the Rum Infused Festive Pudding and I just had to try some and it was the best tasting Christmas pudding I have ever had. It was really gorgeous. We shared both deserts and the Festive Pudding was definitely our favourite.

Overall it was such an amazing experience and somewhere we will definitely be visiting again. We left with full tummies and smiles on our faces and truly loved our time at Turtle Bay. If you were thinking about venturing out to try the Turtle Bay Festive Menu I would definitely say it was very safe and a lovely pleasant experience. We felt very well cared for and safe. There is loads more to try on the Turtle Bay Festive Menu if the things we tried don’t take your fancy, check it out here. We really loved our evening out with Turtle Bay.
It’s been lovely to get out of the house for a few hours and have a little date night. The pandemic has made us cancel so many plans this year and its nice to get back out in a safe way and experience a lovely evening. Here is a list of all the plans we have had to cancel in 2020. I hope you can get a Turtle Bay visit in soon; a delicious and very safe evening out.
